    Isomalto oligosaccharide, also known as isomaltulose oligosaccharide or IMO is a low molecular weight oligosaccharide composed of glucose molecules. Isomalto-oligosaccharide is a prebiotic. It is a white or almost white powder, tasteless or slightly sweet. IMO is readily soluble in water. Isomaltulose oligosaccharide is a tasteless powder that dissolves rapidly in water to form a clear, colorless solution. Since the glycosidic bonds in IMO resist digestion, it can function as a prebiotic soluble fiber to promote the growth of beneficial intestinal bacteria.
