    Product Overview

Sodium gluconate is a white to tan, granular to fine, practically odorless crystalline powder. It is very soluble in water, sparingly soluble in alcohol, and insoluble in ether. Sodium gluconate is the organic sodium salt of gluconic acid and a chelator that forms stable complexes with various ions and ultimately prevents these ions from engaging in chemical reactions. Gluconates are naturally occurring substances that freely dissociate from the gluconate anion and its respective cations. Being fully biodegradable and non-toxic, it represents an environment-friendly alternative to the common chelating agents used in cosmetics such as EDTA. Sodium gluconate has a good retarding effect and excellent taste and is widely used in the construction, washing, food and medicine industries.

The main application of Sodium Gluconate
    • Sodium gluconate in food processing is used as a chelating agent, acidity regulator, and flavor enhancer in cheese, baked goods, meat, etc.
    • Sodium Gluconate in pharmaceuticals is used as a chelating agent in pharmaceuticals and nutritional solutions to improve stability and bioavailability. It is also used as an excipient.
    • As a concrete admixture, sodium gluconate in concrete serves as a retarding agent to slow down the setting time and extend the workability of cement mixes.
    • Sodium gluconate in soap, as a chelating agent, is used to soften hard water and enhance cleaning performance in laundry and household cleaning products.
    • Sodium Gluconate in agriculture is used as a chelating agent in fertilizers and pesticides to provide micronutrients and enhance performance.
    • Sodium Gluconate in water treatment is used to soften water, prevent scaling, and control corrosion by chelating ions.
